Grenada, located in the Caribbean, is an island nation. Grenada is a member of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU), the Caribbean Development Bank, CARICOM, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the Commonwealth of Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and several other organizations. The economy of Grenada is largely based on tourism. Agriculture and services also serve as the major sectors. However, tourism has also provided more work opportunities for construction workers as more hotels and restaurants are built to accommodate tourists. Main industries are tourism, food and beverages, textiles, light assembly operations and construction. |
